Our foreign correspondent Lisa Freeman has been scouring Europe looking
for math problems which make the French exclaim things like "Quel
fromage!" and "Maurice Chevalier!" Or so I'm told. Here is her
UC
Berkeley double major in Math and Spanish paying for itself:
"If a matador has seven soccer balls, and you take away five soccer
balls, how many soccer balls do you have?"
Answer: "You have five soccer balls. A man told me this in Madrid.
Then, when the Euro collapsed, he killed himself by drowning
in the
Mediterrean Sea, one of the world's most beautiful bodies of water."
